Burning Ambition

((YEah..now that I re-read it it dosn't make much sense either..hehe..I don't think I was all ther when I wrote it.))

She smiled "Would would you like us to do? A few hand stands and back flips?" she asked before pinching his side where she knew it was ticklish.

Mark rolled his eyes. "Why am I the only one in the band that never gets laid!" He grumbled. "I mean, I'm like, the face of the band!"

((lol, I wonder what their posters look like. Do we even have a name?))

Derren squirmed away, making little noises when Jeni poked him. "You never get laid because you try to get it on with sane chicks. You need superstitious, hyperactive panicky girls." He placed his hand in the way of his ticklish spot so Mark didn't get him too.

Mark glowered and slammed his head on the table several times. "Whyyy is the world so cruel!?" He yelled.

Jeni shook her head and smiled "I have a friend who is quite insane, also very hyper. Maybe you two would get along." she offered.

"Nah, I think I shouldn't date till I find out why I have this weird need for meat." Mark replied sullenly.

"You're craving meat? You probably need iron or something," Derren said. He was interested about nurition.

Mark shrugged. "Maybe..."

Autumn noded "You should take Iorn pills." She scratched at the back of her neck again, the back of her neck was itching alot.

"You okay?" Derren asked. The question was directed at both of them, oor no-one in particular. Everything just seemed a little distant, like he was wandering around in a dream. He couldn't remember if he had said things already...
"You okay?" Derren asked.

"Um yeah...the back of my neck just itches alot and my stomach feels odd is all." she said with a shrug. She reasoned if she stoped itching it would go away but it was very hard to do such a thing.

"I dunno...," Mark said, sitting back in his seat, "I feel really thirsty. Like, no matter how much I drink my Coke, I can't quench my awful thirst!"

"Try water. Coke isn't exactly great, you know," Derren stated. He was pushing his food around on his plate, not too hungry.

If jeni looked at the back of her neck she'd be able to see small bird feathers starting to form, but that wasn't a usual place for one to look and a place covered by hair. She ate some of her sushie, finding she liked it more than she thought she had before.

Mark ordered a glass of water and gulped it down at once.
"Argh! No good!" Mark whined.

"You guys ae acting so weird," Derren said again, just in case they didn't get it when he said it the first time. "Try drnking something else," he instructed Mark.

"Your wierd." jeni told him, poking him once again in his ticklish spot just to get back at him, and went back to eating her food. She was glad he didn't know her ticklish spots.

Mark sighed. "So, whats up with you guys? Found anyone interesting lately?" He asked as casually as he could.

"Nah. Bex says she'll try help me find someone, but I reckon she'll just wind up picking someone up and ditching me," Derren said with a little laugh.

Jeni shook her head "No, I've been staying to myself latly. Just a bunch of things going on. Bex keeps trying to get me out of my 'shell', as she calls it." she said.

Mark laughed. "Shell?" He asked happily, though his expression was tired.

She smiled noding, "Yep. She says i'm to with drawn, tha I need to open up to more people."

"Well, you do. Just not necersarilly the people she has in mind," Derren pointed out. "You are pretty withdrawn."

"It's hard to be open in a world like this!" Mark said. "There's always a chance that you could get hurt."

She nodded to both of them. She was confussed about herself mostly, and there were things in her past she still had to come to terms with. But at least she wasn't alone, "You have your frines at least. We all stand by eachothers side." she said smiling.

"We're band mates! We're always here for each other!" Derren sang, putting his arms around both of his friends' shoulders.

Jeni grinned "Ah! Its a mush moment."

Mark grinned. "You kids!" He joked. "But seriously, why am I not more popular?"

(No, they're trying to get their sounds out there but nobody wants them. Not their old music, anyway. *grins*)

"Why is our band not more popular, more like," Derren grumbled. "Maybe it's cuz you're in it!" he told Mark jokingly.

Jeni simled "Oh well get popular. We just need to advertise more. How bout we do some free conerets at volenteer places."

"As long as it's not that old place that smells of cat pee. The people there throw things," Derren said indignantly, rubbing a sore spot on his shoulder. Flying ketchups could be lethal.

she laughted "Agreed." she said grinning

(They sound okay, not sure about the giraffe one though lol. Thora suggested some good ones.)

"Well, is everyone good and full? Can we go back now?" Derren asked, suddenly realising that they had been making a considerable noise and were getting dirty looks from some of the other customers.

'tears of a vampire' heeh last ones kind of whack. 'The devils hand' or 'The fallen agnels' I can't think of anymore without blowing steam lol))

Jeni looked about with a frown and nodded "Thats a good idea. Lets go, i'm full." she relaly hadn't eaten much and usual she was a big eater for such a small perosn.

Mark nodded, jumping out of his seat and waving goodbye to all the glaring people.
