Burning Ambition

Jeni grabed her folder and pulled out a sheet of paper and handed it to Bex to go over.

Sota pulled out his dumb set, he'd set it all on a wooden crate on wheels so it was easier to push out of the way and in place. He grabed his drumb sticks and twirled them.

(Drum has no b.)

Bex read the sheet, smiling at the lyrics. "Ev'one ready?" she called.

"Ready when you are." said Raz.

((lol sorry. I do that every time I swear. Just smack me when I do. )

Sota nodded "Ready as I'll ever be." he said geting comfy.

Jeni took her stance next to the keyboard and behind her mike "Yep."

((Hey. what time dose everyone have to go?))

(I have to go in 5 minutes.)

('k well I've got to go now basicly. I'll talk later. night)

"Okay, let's start guys!" Bex called out. As he was playing, Derren was surprised to find that he didn't mess up almost at all; he normally hit the wrong keys often.

Sota suprised himself as well, his drum notes were geting better, he was hitting right on que and in the right spots un like before.

Raz wondered why all of a sudden he got all of the cords that he always fond hard to do before. He also didn't have to look at his gutair as much.

Jeni found she was feeling alot more comfortable with singing in the mike and didn't shy away from the high notes anymore. It was odd but she didn't feel so bashfull of her voice as before.

Bex sang more passionately than ever. She held the notes longer. Her voice didn't break at all, which was excellent because it normally did. By the end of the song, she was amazed.
"Thank god I was recording that," she muttered. "That's the best we've ever done!"

"Really," asked Mark, flexing his fingers. "I mean, I remember this one time. Ok, yeah, this is probably the best we've ever done. But how?" He shook his head. "There's no way!"

Bex shrugged. "Who knows? Who cares! We could be really good!"

"I dunno," He continued. "Shouldn't there be. like, a side effect or something?"

"Pssht, yeah, there is. It's called fame! And money, and meeting famous people," Bex said with a roll of her eyes. "Why bite the hand that feeds?"
"I'm not sure that's the right phrase," Derren told her.
"Shut up Derren."

Mark coughed uncertainly. "Ok, but if we grow, like, a third eye or something, don't blame me!" He set the guitar down and stalked out of the recording room.

"What's his problem?" Bex asked nonchalantly.

"I dunno. It's just so weird. I mean, everything has a sorta side effect, ya know? It's like on that anime. You know, FMA? There's this equivalent exchange thing, with every thing you get you have to give back the same amount. Sometimes more! I just don't want to become messed up or something. I mean, christ, I'm too young and handsome to die!" Mark said dramatically.

Raz was scared of all this talk of side affects. He liked the way he was, he didn't want to change. "But thats not certen, that we are going to have side affects." He said.

"Why does anybody think we're going to have side effects?" Derren asked. He didn't understand all the fuss. They had gotten better at playing their instruments, that was all. Nothing weird about that.

"I don't, its just what Mark said scared me." Said Raz.

"Pfft, whatever," Bex said flippantly. She wasn't the type to think about consequences.

"Whoa whoa whoa! Settel down all. No one said were going to have anything happen to us. Jeeze! We play the greatest we've ever played and suddenly you all are freaking out about it. I mean, who says it itsn't just our practicing that didn't do it?" Sota asked. He didn't want' the newly accuiered jewrly to be the reason for thier sudden enhance ment of skill.

Jeni frowed, she didn't know what to think of all this. She simply sat down where she stood. She felt at odds with herself. She saw everyones point of view and the idea somthing would happen to them all scared her but yet she also belived that there may never be any sideffects.

Bex shook her head. "Yeah, what's the big deal? We just practiced and got good, like that saying says, practice makes good or whatever."

Sota opened his mouth to correct her than closed it "Thats close enough. We shouldn't be worrying. First of all, sideffects from the weed would have shown already and as for as the jewrly...well thats just obsurd. Who ever heard of jewlery giving people sideffects?" he was trying to calm everyone down. Get them to relax.

Jeni sighed and rested her chin in her hands, listening to them all.

Sota was right, jewrly doesn't change people. And the weed would already have passed. They would be fine.

Sota sat back at his drums and twirled the sticks now taht his little speech was over "So...now that were getting better. Maybe we should set up some conncert ideas." he offered to get everyone mind of the jewelry.

"well," Mark started, interrupting the calm effect they had just set it, "sometimes people become allergic to certain types of jewelry. My sister is allergic to some type of jewelry, so that whenever she wears it she gets this freakish rash. What happens if we get some type of allergic reaction to this jewelry?! I mean, I don't want a rash to consume my whole freakin body!!" He said, suddenly starting to really spazz.

Sota sighed, he was normaly calm but this whole thing about the jewrly was keeping him from seriously needed practice. "Dude. Chill. First of all, you'll only get a rash were you where the jewrly and it will be small. You know what I think thought? I think your just feeling guilty for taken it so your blaming everything on it." he told him.

"I bet he's right!" Bex shouted after a moment of staring stupidly into space. Derren glanced at her with a raised eyebrow.

"No, for all we know this stuff could be, like, some Indian sh** that they left! It could be cursed! I've seen the movies, where everything starts great, and everyone is all happy, then WHAM! They all start DYING." Yeah, by now Mark had pretty much lost it.

Sota opend his mouth to speak but was beat to the chase.

"Oh just shut up!! All of you!" Jeni sudenly shouted. It was rather startling to hear such a quite girl suddenly burst, it even made sota jump. She stomped up to as standing position, "I'm sick of this talk about the jewrly being cursed and what not! This talk will Jinx us if it hasn't already! I'm tierd of the arguing and the talke of this stupid Jewlry! If its such a problem just take it off!!" she threw her hands up in exasperation and started storming out.

"Well...now that are aggressions are out.." sota started tentivly when Jeni stormed past.

"I'm sorry, guys. I think my brains just messed up a bit. Blame the A.D.D." Mark said, eyes cast downward, ashamed that he had made his friend burst out like that.

Bex watched Jeni storm out, peering after her. She fiddled with the microphone and its buttons. Derrren sighed and shot Bex a look. Then he got up and went after his bandmte Jeni.

Sota looked over at everyone else "Ok. everythings cool. We've got our feelings out and our owrries. Now everyone knows how everyone feels. Lets just keep practicing." he encouraged.

Jeni found a spot in the back garder of whoevesr house they were at and sat on the knee high stone wall. She breahed in the freash air to calm herself down. She didn't know if there was anything to worry about as far as them playing better. As for the jewrly, well it was wierd that none of them had been able to remove them, maybe there was a trueth to it being cursed.

Raz just played some notes on his gutair. He didn't like the thought of the jewlry being something bad but the sound of his gutair pushed hs bad thoughts away.

"Hey," Derren offered as he sat next to Jeni. "Bex was checking you out again. I don't blame her," he said with a grin.

Jeni couldn't help but smile "You know just what to say to a girl." she teased, she had to admit she was greatful he'd came outside with her.

((I was just looking back and I realized I had a base gautiarist and not a singer. Oops. Well, Doom can stil have a singer and I'll keep Jeni. If you all want I can bring in another Charrie, well just say they were late, or what not.))

(Ah, whatever's good with you, I don't know the first thing about bands. Wait, that's a lie. They play instruments. But that's all I know.)

"I know, I'm amazing. But she has good taste," he told Jeni. He allowe dhimself to watch her out of the corner of his eye. "You wanna tell me what's wrong?"

((Lol. Oohh. And some play out of thier garages. hehe. anyway, I'll think on it. I dont' know yet))

Jeni couldn't help but find herslef blush a bit at his last comment and smiled.
She pulled her long hair about out of her face and tied it in a pony tail, before she found the words to answer his question. "I..I don't know..It was just worrying me I guess. I mean, I don't think the jewlry is cursed but what if it is? None of us can get these things off. And what if it WAS on a burial ground?" She had to admit, she was feeling a bit guilty.

((Nah, if you want a lead singer to be a girl then just keep it like it is. Mark is backup. :] Do we need a mix team?))
