Wolf Pack

Renae took a chance and leaped into the fight, her claws raked down the dogs back. It yelleped and attacked her but she was ready and flung it aside. She helped Rain up just as it slowly got up and attacked again.

Rain slid under it and began to worry at its throat.

Renae stood back and looked at the other two dogs, they were both dead. There was still no sign of Dusk or the human. She looked at Rain. "I'm going to look for the human and Dusk." Renae said and hurried off in the direction where she last saw the human.

The human and Dusk were still wrestling away at the river. Dusk was close to beating him...

Rain left the dog to die like, well, a dog, and ran after Renae.

She heard the river futher up. Soon it would be in sight.
There it was, the river. There was Dusk and the human. She lay low. She saw that Dusk had the upper side so if she went running in, he might get distracted.

But suddenly, both Dusk and the human slipped, and fell into the river! Rain rushed up just in time to see him slip into the water.

Renae quickly ran over. she looked very carefully. She couldn't see Dusk. The human was also no where to be seen.

"Dusk!" Rain shouted. "Dusk! Dusk!" She loped along the river edge, but didn't find anyhting. "Dusk," she whispered.

She didn't know what to do. Her friend and a human had just fallen of a ledge into the water.

"The human's gone," Rain said softly. "The pack can come back now. We can be together again."

"We must find them. Shade can take us to the others." Renae muttered. Dusk was gone. She gave Rain a short nuzzle to say she was sorry about what happened with Dusk.

Rain whined her thanks to Renae. "We need to find them. Lets go."

Renae sprinted ahead. She howled to call Shade. They got back to the den and she saw Shade. "We need to find the rest of the pack. The human is gone." Renae said.
"Where's Dusk?" He asked.
"He's gone..." Renae said and looked down.

"He fell in the river," Rain choked out, "getting rid of the human. They're both gone." She felt desperate to get the pack back, to honor Dusk's sacrifice.

"I will lead you to where they were heading." Said Shade. He called all of the wolves over to tell the bad news.
"Dusk is gone but so is the human. He died saving the rest of us! That is a true leader!" Shade yelled.

Rain was impatient to get going. It looked like a thunder storm might start soon, and she didn't want to get caught in it without the rest of the pack.

"We will leave now. To get the rest of the pack back!" Yelled Shade and headed out. "Come if you want!" He yelled back. He wasn't leader so he had no controll but Renae was by his side.

Rain followed, as did a couple of other wolves. She wanted to find the rest of the pack so badly...

Shade led to were they were attacked and he was left behind. They seemed to scatter and then meet futher up. Shade followed Eagle's trail to find this information. There was a clearing. He had to hope that the human wasn't nar and didn't see them.

Rain howled to the others, waiting for a reply. Nothing. She tried again. Noth-wait! What was that? Again, she heard it. Dawn! Dawn was calling back! Where are you? Keep talking, I'll find you! Dawn called.

Renae heard this. She told Shade who stopped. He had very good hearing so he could also hear it.
"I wonder where Raza is..." Said Renae.

Rain howled more and more, until finally, Dawn burst through the bushes. The two wolves leaped aound each other happily for a few seconds.
"Where's the rest of the pack?" Rain asked.
"They're coming."

"Is Raza with them?" She knew he was. He had to be.

"Yeah. Everyone's here. Well, mostly. Shade is missing, but he's not really anymore." She wagged her tail, waiting for the pack to arrive.

He stepped foward and gave her a nod with a big wolf smile. Renae howled out for Razza. I'm waiting for you! She howled and waited for a reply.
I'm coming! Howled Razza, not too far off.

Soon the rest of the pack was soon showing up through the bushes and trees. Different coats and colours flashed in the sun. A lot of barking and yelping was going on.

Raza was near the front. "RAZA!" barked Renae as he came bursting at her. He nocked her to the ground and nearly licked her face clean off. "I've missed you so much!!!" Yelled Raza.

Eagle was the last to show up. Rain pulled both him and Dawn out of the mesh of wolf bodies and spoke respectfully; "Dusk is the reason the human is gone. They both went into the river, and niehter of thhem have come out. I'm so sorry."

Renae saw Rain talking to the elder leader and Dawn. She thought it would be best if she didn't interferre. She was so happy that Raza was back. Then Shade walked over to Renae.

Eagle was emotionless, a wolf of stone. But Dawn was so upset. She ran off to be with Storm.
Rain returned to the throng of the reunited pack and just howled.

Most of the pack was howling but Renae was confused when Shade gave a strange look at Raza. It was the look that means stay away from that, its mine.

When no-one was looking, Dawn slipped off. She wanted to find her brother. She didn't thin khe was dead; she would feel it, she was sure.

Rain moved closer to Renae and her small group of admirers. She thought that she could feel some tension in the area.

This is weird. Shade asked me to be his mate the other day but why is he being so protective. He didn't seent to mind the other males, only Raza.

(It reminds me of a certen someone doing this to you, lol)

Dawn sniffed up and down the river bank, following the river downstream. She would find her brother.

(No one else reads this! That was soo funny!)

"You're lucky that you had Dusk." Whispered Renae to Rain. "He was so nice."

"I know. I can't believe he's gone," she whimpered.

She looked up into the sky and whined. Her friend was gone and now, two of her other friends were fighting.

Eagle was growling angrily after talking to Storm and some others. Nobody knew where his daughter had gone. He howled to the sky for her to come back now! but there was no reply. Losing Dusk had been bad enough, but he didn't know if he could bear to loose Dawn.

"Where is Dawn?" Renae asked susspiscouly. (Spelt soooo wrong!)
Raza walked over to Renae giving Shade a dangerous glare every once in a while.

"Nobody knows," was the reply. "She probably just needs some time alone. I wouldn't worry."

Shade and Raza were now veryclose to Renae,one on either side pushing all others away. This was a little too closefor Renae so she walked off.

Rain followed her. She didn't feel like being alone at the moment.
"What's with them?" she asked, reffering to Shade and Raza. It was more to make conversation than anything.

"I don't know. I wish that they wouldn't. I was so happy to see Raza again and then Shade starts this and he joined in! Its so unlike him." Renae said.

"Well, iit's bound to pass. Everyone's just a little shook up right now."

"It will..." She muttered, looked down and whined. Everything had gone so wrong. Dusk is missing, possibly dead, two of her best friends are fighting and now Dawn is missing. Renae put her head back and howled.

Rain howled too, a cry of raw emotion. There weren't words for how she felt.

Dawn searched. She wasn't going to give up on her brother. She would find him no matter what. That he was dead wasn't even a possibility. It did cross her mind that she was far away from the pack. If she kept on in this direction she would wind up in another pack's territory.

Renae knew they had to find Dawn, it would be like a last gift to Dusk. "We have to find Dawn." She said to Rain.

A sorrowful howl split the air. Dawn had found Dusk. He was dead. And she was sad. Oh, so sad. She ran blindly.

After forever of running she found she was in another pack's territory. Or what had once been another pack's territory. It looked like a fire had razed the pack out of existance. There were charred bodies lying everywhere. There were still embers so it couldn't have happened too long ago. The smell of burnt flesh reached her nose.

Renae got up and howled so hard that her lungs ached. She was calling to Dawn. Come back! Or we will come to find you!
