Golden Towers

"Only if they catch you." Tandra paused. "They haven't caught you, have they?"

Dem was quite then, watching as the robots began to surround her and Pricket. "I d-don't think w-we can t-talk a-anymore." She whispered, her voice shaking a great deal.

Tandra didn't want to wait any longer, but now she had no choice. There was someone on the room, some official messing around with some papers on a desk.
"Hey. You. Would you let me outta here?" Tandra asked. Well, it was worth a go.
The guy muttered absently, "Yeah, sure, whatever," and slapped the release buttons. Tadnra found herself loose.

Pricket watched uneasily as the robots surrounded them. He raised his hands like claws, hissing somewhat, but began to have his coubts they could take them. Then again, Dem was often underestimated... so he re-thought his thoughts. Yeah. We'll make it.

"So, um," Dem managed to squeek. "You get all of those," She said, pointing to about 2/3 of the robots, "and I'll g-get those." She pointed to the rest of them.

"Well..." he started uneasily, "... Whatever you want, Dem." He issued a piercing glare at those 2/3 of robots, staying perfectly still and waiting for one of them to make the first move.

Dem fumbled the gun, dropping it. There was a loud bang and a piercing scream. She had shot herself in the foot.

"Amature," came a voice. Tandra stood behind the robots, holding one of the ugly purple weapons. "Miss me much?" she asked playfully, not really caring what the answer was.

Pricket made a mental note to roll his eyes after the ordeal. He still stood alert, biting his cheek as Dem's scream filled his hearing.

Dem fell to the ground, tears spilling from her eyes. She was to dense to notice that the wound was healing too quickly for it to be normal.

Shaking her head, Tandra began firing. The ugly weapon sent out shots into the robots, but she was sure that there were too man for her and Pricket. "Dem, would you get up and help us? Look, you're barely even bleeding anymore. Just get up and start killing them."

Dem didn't notice, she was to busy being petrified. "I-I..." She looked around, confused about what all was happening.

The Ex-Mutant bent over, taking action. He hoisted her up on his shoulder, then leaned her against the wall -- and before she could realize what was going on her was shaking her. "Woman, snap out of it! You've gone into a bit of shock!" He pointed her head in the direction of the healed wound. "Look, it's alright! Nothing to worry about!"

Dem's eyes snapped into realization. "R-Right!" She said, grabbing her gun again. "M-my apologize, sir!" She gave him a salute before blasting at a robot whose arm had just come into crushing distance of Pricket's head.

Pricket quickly nodded, both a 'thank you' and a 'alright', taking half a second to watch the arm fly over his head. He turned, leaving Dem and attending to a small group of the critters huddled not too far away.

"Having fun there, Pricket?" Tandra half-teased, letting a robot get a grip on her before killing it, just for a thrill.

"Not exactly," he answered blunty, slamming one into the wall. "Who were these sent by again?"

"W-who cares!" Dem stuttered, ducking before she could have her head crushed. "W-We just need to defeat them and- and get out of here!"

"And go where?!" he snapped, punching in the hard-wiring of another robot and throwing its shell into a few remaining ones.

Dem jumped up, hitting a robot's arm and tripping. "I don't know!" She cried.

Pricket glanced over at Tandra for input. "Well -- where?"

"We can't discuss any plans here!" Tandra exclaimed. "The robots'll be listening." She ran out of ammo and resorted to hitting robots with the ugly purple weapon. "We just have to run."

"How many of these things ARE there?!" he exclaimed, baffled by how many robots had actually flooded the room.

"Who knows?!" Dem said, jumping over one as it fell. "There could be th-thousands!"

"I really think-" smack! "-that we should-" smack! "-run soonish-" smack! Tandra kept hitting the robots with her empty purple gun, looking for an escape route.

Dem had took off with Pricket over her shoulder even before the words had come out of Tandra's mouth.

Tandra ran with the other two. "They're not getting us today," she stated blandly.

"I wouldn't speak so soon," Pricket gasped, turning a corner.

Dem jumped back and landed on her feet, like a lion. She immediately fell backwards, almost tripping Tandra.

"But you're not me. They aren't getting us today." Tandra spoke very determinedly, but words often are not enough.

"Yeah, I hope," Pricket muttered, continuing.

Dem conveniently tripped over her own foot and fell, knocking herself into a bunch of robots.

"Nice," he managed to giggle.

This wasn't exactly nice for Dem. Mostly because she was shot in the stomach and stabbed in the eye. That can be a very painful experience, you know.
"Arhh!" She managed to hiss in pain. Blood rushed up through her throat.
