Christmas Holidays

Post  Crying Angel on Sat Dec 15, 2007 6:54 am

That's right! Christmas is just around the corner. And you know what that means!
Tasteless tinsel and bauballs decorate every street. Hideous flourescent spray-paint pictures dominate shop windows. Countless christmas CD's (no matter how bad) are for sale, while every shop you enter shouts seasonal jingles at you from ceiling-mounted speakers you just can't reach. Christmas bargains tempt you to spend the year's earnings. Shopkeepers dress up in red Santa hats and over-sized christmas tree earings. Nerves become freyed as relatives you don't particularly like come to stay with you for weeks on end. Bad christmas specials are on the TV every night about how Little Bobby saved christmas and how everyone is special, and that anything is possible if you just believe! The phrase 'merry christmas' is used so many times the words loose their meaning.
It's the same every year.
But the christmas holidays do bring one mercy: no school. The rest is bearable because you will no longer be forced to drag yourself out of bed at some unholy hour, no longer have to waste your own time on homework, no longer be made to sit in a classroom full of gossipy, immature people, ready to pounce at the first sign of weakness like animals!
Yes, the holiday is wonderful. If you're like me, it heralds the rise of weeks of semi-nocturnal solitude, by the end of which you are peeping from behind the curtains, convinced your neighbours are working for the FBI and spying on you.
If you're like my friend it may mean weeks of outdoor family activities, every day booked with some kind mind and body enhancing form of fun. Hiking, swimming and the like. (Honestly can't understand it - what's the point of having a holiday if you're going to keep your sanity?)
But whatever you may be doing, remember to enjoy yourself.
Merry christmas, everyone!

indeed.
Christmas is hectic, but not unimportant, and should go with caring and sharing and whatnot. It is, as they say, the most wonderful time of the year, with traffic, gifts, and Christmas trees. Did I mention traffic?
D:<
Oh, the traffic!
Gah!
Mad

But, I like Christmas for the warm feeling I get inside my heart to know that I'll be with the people I care about and will hopefully not go into a depression filled hole.
Very Happy

Well if you do get into one be sure to visit me.
Gah, I don't think my cousin will be visiting. Which really, really, really, really, REALLY, REALLY SUCKS cuz I was hoping she'd visit and when she did she might have helped me out with some stuff I'm going through.
Though she probably wouldn't have anyway...
I was hoping she would come up. I miss her Sad
But doomy gloomy aside, this year surely can't be as bad as last year (family moves away and I throw up on christmas morning), or 1997 (whole family got sick), so you see, I'm doing my best to be optimistic!
I do wish I could get into the christmas spirit a little more; even if it is hideously over comercialised, everyone gets into it. I was once part of something with people (yes, you heard me. Actual, real life people, not a video game character or an internet alias, true, physical people! Not a regular expirience for me.) and it was pretty enjoyable.

Anyway, I'm writing this at 9 'o clock on christmas eve. Our 2 foot high fibre optic christmas tree is making wierd squeaking noises (I'd make my christmas if it caught fire. I don't have anything against mini christmas trees in particular; I just like fire. Twisted Evil ) and Love, Actually is oon the TV, which my mum is watching while eating ice cream.

Here's wishing you all a wonderful christmas, a fun boxing day, a great new year, new year's resolutions you won't feel too guilty about breaking, and whatever else you do at this time of year!
