Alamestea

Set in a futuristic world with technology advanced in comparison to our own, people with individual magic abilities inhabit the world with their animalistic companions called aurie. This world is called Alamestea. Aurie take different forms, just as people have different magic properties. Depending on the bond between the human and their aurie, they can roam different distances apart. They can communicate with their own human telepathically and speak to other aurie, but cannot speak to other humans. They are always the opposite gender of their human. Aurie take the form of an animal but it may be a mythical one (eg, dragon). There is proffesional aurie fighting (like human wrestling, you know?) but there are also illegal underground establishments where there aren't rules and humans sometimes go up against auries. Ouch, is all I can say.
If an aurie dies - they wouldn't normally die until their human did - so if an aurie is killed, their human is forever crippled by it as they could no longer use magic.
Each person can have several different types of magic they can learn. These are either inherited from their parents and/or learned naturally. The amount of magic that can be learned not only depends on skill but also ability, as some people cannot learn certain types of magic. (For the sake of the roleplay, we'll limit the maximum amount of magic to 5 different types.) There are elemental magics (fire, water, electricity, air, ect) as well as other types (such as controlling other people's minds and restoring biological clocks.) so get creative with what you give your charrie.

You may have as many characters as you like. Remember, every human has an aurie so don't overload yourself with five charries, as you'd kind of have ten. Questions welcome, and if they bring up a good point we'll edit this thing.

CA's character sheet:

Name: Her real name is Annabelle, but everyone calls her Winter these days.
Gender: Female
Age: A lady never tells her age. But she looks about 18-24 (though she's not).
Height: About 5'8
Weight: You should know better than to ask a woman that.
Appearance: White hair, pale skin, long, sharp fingernails. Slim, but with curves in all the right places. Very elegant. Her eyes are an unnaturally metallic shade of blue/grey-ishness.
Magic: 1.Can control water (thanks mum). 2.Can alter her physical appearance (thank you, father). Appearance is everything, darling. 3.Learning to control air. 4.Nothing yet. 5.Nothing.
Personality: Cold and intelligent. She knows how to manipulate people well. She has been described as 'the North Wind incarnate' more than once for her coldness.
History: Comes from a fairly wealthy family. She left as soon as she could, disconnecting herself from her roots and persuing something she loves; aurie fighting. Winter doesn't care if it's legal or not, she's always up for a good battle.
Aurie: A griffin. (If you don't know what a griffin looks like, firstly - how do you not know?! and secondly - look at my avatar.) He has deep metallic blue eyes.
Aurie's Name: Cheim.
Aurie's Size: Enormous. 'Big' is an understatment when it comes to how huge Cheim is.
Aurie's Personality: Cheim is always as ready to fight as his human. He is strong and determined and very rarely looses.
Human/Aurie Relationship: Extremely close. If Cheim is in danger during a fight Winter will jump in and call off the battle unless she is absolutely sure he can turn it around. They have an intimate relationship in which Cheim is not just Winter's aurie, he is also her closest friend.

Apperence: Has darkbrown/black hair. Normal size. Light blue eyes.
Magic: Can fly (Thanks to mum) and can controll light and fire (Thanks to dad)
Personality: Quite a loner, not social.
History: No one really knows and she doesn't want to talk about it.
Aurie: Red fox (Changes to white in winter)
Aurie's Name: Veran
Aurie's size: Quite small.
Aurie's personality: Shy and slinky, stays in the shadows and can hide easily.
Human/Aurie Relationship: Very close. If ever need help, other will come to the rescue.

Age: 20
Height: About 6'2ft
Weight: about 65kgs
Appearance: Slim body with short-ish black hair usually wears a dark hooded cloak has very light skin and deep blue eyes
Magic: 1. Can control fire 2. has advanced telephical abilitys so can move objects with his mind and can creat barriers of pure energy as well as throw energy and to see in the future so has extrerlly fast reactions 3. trying to learn how to conrol weather 4. Can summon 2 Phoenix's for a short time
Personality: Is very mysterious and very rarly talks to people yet is very kind to the people that he dose met and talk to
History: Comes from a powerful family but was disowned from his family at a young age so he has had to learn to survie on his own and has become very self-reliant from living on the streets
Aurie: Dragon... Her Scales are the colour of a sapphire and her belly is the colour a Emerald
Aurie's Name: Phoenix
Aurie's Size: For a dragon shes quite small becuase she is still very young in dragon years.
Aurie's Personality: she has a lot of Similarities to her owner but to very cautious of new people but will always aid those who need it
Human/Aurie Relationship: Very close and they are they only trust each other and having been through so much conflic in thier life know each other very well

Winter re-read the message she had just typed. She made sure it was formal and all the speeling was correct; these small things were just as important as the large things. It all added to the appearance people percieved in the end. And appearance was everything.
She re-adjusted her white dress before she sent the message, plucking at the silver emroidery.
Cheim quiently walked in. For a creature of such size, he was surprisingly lithe and quiet. This gave them another edge in battle. Speaking of which...
"That was an amature fighting agency. They want us to teach and give demonstrations there," she informed her griffin. He clicked his four-inch talons on the linolium of the kitchen. "I should assume you agreed?" Winter smiled. "Of course."
Cheim sniffed and clicked his tongue. "My food's ready." Winter got up and retrieved the half-cooked ham from the oven. It was big, but Cheim would finish it off quickly even though he had already gone hunting that evening.
For herself Winter had made fish. They sat and ate together.
They lived in a big, two-story house together, Winter and Cheim. It was always cold there, but neither of them seemed to notice. The first floor was inhabited by Winter and the second was Cheim's lair, set up just as he wished. There was a room for him to play and practice and a nest he had made himself amoung other things, and Winter was the only one who ever ventured there uninvited.
"We should go out after tea," Cheim told his human. "Go for a walk." Winter nodded in agreement.

Veran was running, his person, Phiona was walking futher behind. They were taking a walk out side. They lived in a nice place. Where Veran would be happy and there wernt very many people.

Durzan walked alone in the snow admiring the 2 story house before him
"This looks like a nice place to stay the night, lets see if anyone lifes in here"

Durzan approached the house and knocked on the front door and waiting for a reply while Phoenix stood beside him

Veran had his winter coat. It was hard to see him in the snow. He stoped ion his tracks and waited for Phiona to catch up. She got to him and patted his little white head. There was a house with a person knocking on the door. There was a dragon as a aurie with him.

Winter was doing her hair when there was a knock on the door. Before she had a chance to ask, Cheim offered to answer it.
Cheim opened the door with a bird-like, dexterous claw, gouging slight cuts into the wood as he did so. In front of him stood a man and a dragon aurie.
"Winter, you'd better come here now," The griffin sent Winter a message telepathically. "What do you want?" he asked the man's aurie, his voice smooth.

Veran saw the dragon, he new her from somewhere. Phiona ran up to the two auries and the person. "Hi..." Do I know you from somewhere?:"

Phoenix Steped in front of her human with flame flcikering from her mouth as she spoke "we are look for a place to stay the night and your house looked accomidating so we decied we would ask for your generousity in letting us stay the night?"

Cheim regarded the girl and her aurie cooly, letting his sharp blue eyes roam over both of them. But he said nothing.
Winter hurried to Cheim's side. There were two people and to auries at her door. "Can I help you?" she asked politely while she smiled only with her mouth and not her eyes.
Cheim came up just past Winter's ribs. She absent-mindedly ran her hands along his wings.
Cheim sent her a mind-message informing her of all the man had said seconds before she arrived.

Durzan refspectfully bowed slightly before he said anything
"I trust your Aurie has filled you in as to why we are you. So will you acepted our proposal?" as he stroked Phoenix's head

"What do oyu think?" Winter asked her aurie telepathically.
"I think we should cancel that walk."
Winter nodded. "Very well. You may stay."

"Well Phoenix that went better than i thought it would" Durzan telpachically said as they steped over the threshold
Durzan turned to Winter " is it normally this cold at this time of year around here and where would it be best for us to stay we have no catering needs?"

"Cold?" Winter asked, almost seeming surprised at the idea. She was wearing nothing but a thin knee-length dress, yet seemed to be missing the effects of winter. "There's a hotel in town, about an hours' walk from here," she informed him.
Cheim asked the man's aurie; "What are you two doing around here at this time of year? Not many people come in winter."

"We were out hunting, although at this time of the year it becomes harder to catch anything and scine we were so far from town we decied to see if we could stay here" Phoenix said


"We thought it was best to stop in instead of goign into town as it is getting dark soon" Durzan said as he took a bow and quaver off his back
"Were can i put theses" Gestering towards the weaponarry

Winter took them from him and placed them carefully on an old-fashioned coat rack.
"How rude of me," she said, tuning to the man. "You may call me Winter, and my aurie's name s Cheim. You you are...?"


"It can be treacherous at night here," warned Cheim. "Not least because I'm around." He rolled his muscular shoulders. "Can you fly?" he asked the dragon before him.

" My name is Durzan and my Aurie's name is Phoenix" Phoenix heared up and let out a controled stream of fire at the mention of her name while rising slighting off the ground

"Its nice to have met you Winter as well as you Chiem"

Winter nooded respectfully. "It is my pleasure to have met you both," she said, pleasant enough. She trotted down the hall, her high-heeled shoes clicking on the marble floor. There was no carpet in her house. "I'll show you to your rooms," she told the pair.

"Do you ever fight?" Cheim asked Phoenix. He passionatelt loved fighting and this was a question he asked almost everyone he met.

Durzan slowly folowed after Winter finally feelgin safe enough to unhooded his cloak while makign no noise on the Marble floor

Phoenix Jump off the and glided about 5 meaters to catch up while answering back to Cheim "I fight only when I need to, i see by your build you must be quite good at fighting yourself?"

Winter noted Durzan's features mentally. She opened a door that lead to a beautifully designed, spacious guest room. "You can sleep here tonight. Have you already eaten?" she asked them. It was getting late but she was willing to cook for them.


Cheim smiled and clicked his talons on the marble thoughtfully. "I am quite good at it, yes. Not as good as I could be. But good, all the same." He stretched his wings out then folded them again. "You a flier?" he asked. Cheim loved to fly too; sometimes Winter would get on his back and they'd fly together in the night. It was wonderful.

Veran sniffed at the footprints outside of the doot, they were so fimilliar. "We should go, its getting late and it will be to hard to get home if we don't." Phiona said to Veran telepathicly. Then they left, they were heading towards their home which was a small house, there was only Phiona and Veran.

They got home just as the darkness settled in. Phiona opened the door and walked in with Veran right beside. Neither of them had eaten and since it was cold outside, they were very hungry. She picked out a small slab of rabbit meat for Veran where she ate some fish that was left over from the other night. That sat down and ate together.

Durzan was shocked by the room "Well this is a lot better than a hotel in town also go back and get my bow i think its best that its not left lying around" he said to Phoenix
When Durzan had finally snaped out of his skock he said to Winter "Oh yes we have. Dont worrie about us wel will be gone by the mornign we just need ot stay until it is light again"

Phoenix spred out her wings and walk back the way she had came " Ofcorse im a flier i love flying prephaes we can have a race before I leave?"

Cheim would have smiled if his beak would have allowed it. "I'd love to race you!" he said, pleased by the prospect of a competition.
"Cheim, I want you to keep an eye on them," Winter told her aurie telepathically. Cheim understood. Their house had been broken into before, despite the cleverly hidden security systems. Though Cheim had protected his human. She was safe with him.

"Well, I hope you enjoy your stay here. If you need anything, my room is the third on the left," Winter said with a smile. Cheim excused himself and climbed the stairs to his lair. He ran his claws down the wall, sharpening them and leaving deep gouges in the fine woodwork engravings. He found what was left of his hunt - a sheep, no longer recognisable as one - and stripped the bones of any flesh that was left with his deadly sharp beak. He then got into the crawl space. It was a space between the ceiling of the first story and the floor of the second story and was bigger than the word 'crawl' indicated. Regular grids in the ceiling allowed him to watch what was going on anywhere in the house. He settled himself above Durzan's room.

Veran was up still even though Phiona was in bed asleep. He knew that man and his aurie, he didn't know where or why but he knew that he had seen them before. He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Phoenix came trotting into Durzans room to see him laying out most of the weaponarry that he still had hidden under his cloak
"I dont think they trust us" Pheonix said as he handed the energy bow to Durzan
"I think your right, thier watching us you can see the holes in the cealing although i dont think your adverage person would notice them... but lets get some sleep before we go, we should be safe in here" Durzan said telepahically as he finished with his equipment

Cheim laughed silently to himself. They were the first people to have ever noticed the griffin watching them. It sort of took all the fun out of spying when your quarry knew you were watching and didn't care, Cheim thought to himself.
"They have more weapons. I think they know i'm here but they don't seem to mind," he messaged Winter.

Veran woke up. There was a noise at the door. He quietly left to go and see what it was. He looked through thins little gap made for him to see what the noise was. There was a person outside. He telepathicly called Phiona to the door. She was a light sleeper so he could get into her dreams.

Phoenix woke Durzan up just before dawn
"We should leave before they wake up hopefully Chiem isnt still watching us" Phoenix said was she jumped on Durzan "Come on hurry up and move we dont have time, you know why we need to go"
Durzan walked to Winters door and left a rose by her door to say thank you and then started out for the front door

Phiona could walk very sighlently, the person had an aurie of a wolf. It was strong, stronger than Veran anyday. Phiona causiosly opened the door. The person said "Hello, friend. Please, do not be alarmed. You do not know me but I am not going to hurt you in any way."
"Who are you?" Phiona asked.

Cheim was indeed watching Durzan and Phoenix. He watched them leave the house, watched them as they left the rose by the door. He watched them from the open bay window of his upstairs home.
"We never had that race," he said quietly with a glint in his eye.

as they walked towards the road Phoenix let out a stream of flames with Durzan used his magic to change it into the shape of a huge dragon and then let it fade away... "Now where did i leave that speeder bike?"

She asked again. "Who are you?"
"I am Krego, my aurie is Flane. Anything else at this stage is classified." He replyed.
"Can I over you something? You must be cold, come in." She said politly.

"They're gone," Cheim messaged Winter.
"My, that was a fleeting visit, wasn't it?" she sent back as she walked to her door and picked up the rose, running her finger along one thorn. "Cheim, you'd better get some sleep. We have a fight tonight."
"Is it the Underground?" the griffin asked, a happy purr-growl coming from his throat at the thought.
"Yes, the Underground."
The Underground was very probably the most successful illegal aurie fighting ring in existence. Winter and Cheim were regulars there.

"So, what is your purpose here?" She asked hoping he did not want a fight. He looked the same age as her.
"I need your help, I was told you can help me." He said with a sigh.
"What do you need help with?" She asked.

Durzan sped towards the looming city as the sun was slowly rising as Phoenix flew beside him
"we need to get to the underground before tonight we still have our message for some1 there you should fly ahead to make sure everything is clear ill met you in the tavern at dusk its best we diliver our message under the cover of the night" Durzan said to Phoenix telepahically

"I need you to follow someone. I need you to find out eberything you can about them" He said.
"Oh yes, I am quite good at that, who do you want me to follow?" She asked.
"Someone called Annabelle, but many people call her Winter." He said.
"So what type of thing am I loking for?" She asked.
"Just obseve her, she is going underground tonight, you could start there, you will be payed." He said.
"Ok, I'll do it." She said and shook his hand.
"I'll be wrking with you, its just I make to much noise so thats where you come in." He said as he steped out of the door.

Winter came up to Cheim's lair. That would have almost certainly meant death for anyone else.
She said; "We'll fly to Route 27 then catch a rail shuttle to town. We'll have the day out. I'll pamper you." Cheim laughed at the thought of being pampered. Winter's idea of 'pampering' was having her hair pulled about and vegetables stuck to her face. "Then we'll go to the Underground at six," they both said in unison.
Cheim stood at the open window. "Hop on," he told the white-haired woman.

"We'll have to leave at 5:30 if we want to be there at 6 like that man said. I will fly us there." She said telepathiclly to Veran.

Durzan slowed at the Tavern his bike badly overheated by the long drive "These citys are to big now" he muttered while he looked around for Phoenix and found her purched on the side of the building
"you took your time" she growled with flames fickering from mouth
"Im here now so lets get this over and done with shall we have a few more jobs to do after this aswell but lets have some fun in the underground 1st"

They set off towards the underground

Phiona grabbed Veran and took off, she flew them both to city to have a break. The city was huge. "This is why we live were there arn't many people..." Veran said to Phiona. "I wonder how that man was going to find us?" Phiona said telepathicly to Veran.

Later that day...

Cheim and Winter walked in through the doors of the Underground. They eminated confidence and danger; other people could sense this about them and some of the others became slightly uncomfortable.
Cheim's first opponent was a rooster: a really big rooster. Easily as tall as Winter. Still, he only managed to get one hit in before Cheim was victorious. A cut was on his left shoulder and a thin line of blood ran down his arm. Winter put some of is blood in her white hair. Auries didn't feel pain like humans; they felt the pain, but weren't put in emotional distress like humans were. Cheim didn't even notice the cut on his arm.

There he was, Veran padded in front of Phiona and they met up with that man. They were underground. "You see that girl over there, thats Winter." He said.
"I saw her the other day, at this house. She was talking to this boy." She said to the man (I forgot his name already... Lol)

Durzan stood beside Phoenix and watched the fight "Theses a lot more to Chiem than meets the eye do you want to do a round before we need to leave?" Durzan said to Phoenix telepahically
"Well i think i can try a round and see how things go we havnt been here in a while so i proably wont go to well" replied Phoenix

Durzan walked up to winter and unhooded is cloak so he could be seen by her and asked "How do we get into the games?"

She walked up to Winter quietly, she thought that she seemed nice enough, maybe they could be friends and she didn't really need the money anyway.

"Talk to that man over there," Winter instructed Durzan. "Hope you win," she said with a grin.

"Thank you" Durzan said as he hooded his cloak
Durzan walked towards the man and noticed that his face looked very familair... he took out a data pad and looked through a few files and chuckled to himself "Well Phoenix this is the man we have a message for lets give it to him after the round"

Durzan Talked to the man and got into a round agest Chiem
"Is there any1 else i can fight i would prefur to be alive after the fight you know" Phoenix said with some consern
"Dont worrie if anything goes to badly ill send a fire ball his way" Durzan replied telephaically

Cheim screeched threateningly, but here was a twinkle in his eye.
He charged toward Phoenix, his claws streched.

Phoenix Almared by the scream sent a jet of fire towards Chiem and flew into the air

Cheim dodged it, just, his fur singed by the flames. He took to the air and managed to get a grip on Phoenix's legs. He stopped flying, hoping to drag them both to the ground.
"Good, keep it on the ground," Winter told him.
